and Vietnamese music and theatre meets in a unique artistic project.

a practice of intercultural dialogue created by means of improvisation

interplay between all artists.

American composer Alvin Curran is doing a new work, Circus
Maximus, that will premiere in Warsaw 2011
Alvin Curran is an American composer living in
Italy. For decades he has been one of the leading figures in the development
of the radiophonic hörspiel. Circus Maximus is a large scale project
which is more of a staged installation for actors and musicians with electronics
scheduled for autumn 2011. Circus Maximus is a commission from the EU-project
Integra and Ars Nova.
World premiere scheduled to september 2011

Jörgen Dahlqvist and Kent Olofsson keep on pursuing the aestethics
of the hörspiel. "De stränga anteckningarna" will
be the next performance in the Sonat Series.
De stränga anteckningarna (The Harsh Notes) is the
working title for a project that intends to explore the voice and will
involve both actors and singers, building also on new experimental vocal
techniques. The base of the narrative is the story of Orpheus and Eurydike.
The text stretches out the moment when Orpheus turns around and let everything,
both past and present, take place at the same time. It has also echoes
of a war zone, where people are trying to survive after a big disaster
of some sort.
Text + director: Jörgen Dahlqvist
Composer: Kent Olofsson
Art Work: Peter Jönsson
Actors: Linda Ritzén and Rafael Pettersson
The performance will also include four singers.
World premiere scheduled to january 2011
Acclaimed playwright
Christina Ouzounidis and composer Kim Hedås are doing a new work
within the Sonat Series
We are also planning a large scale production which may
become central for the further development of artistic methodology for
the SONAT-series. In a new piece two authors are brought together who
both have long experience of working with theatre and music from multiple
perspectives: Kim Hedås and Christina Ouzounidis. An important aspect
of the project is that they are both taking part in the project as artistic
researchers at Malmö Theatre Academy and the University of Gothenburg
respectively. The creative process will be studied both by the artists
involved as well as by external researchers.
World premiere scheduled to april/may 2011
